Despite the poor quality sound system used in the Fiesta Filipina 2008 celebration, Charice proved herself once again that she is indeed a talented singer with a wholesome personality. She stayed on top of her game and managed to please everyone’s ears (as usual).
Charice rendered 3 songs namely: I Don’t Want Miss A Thing; I Will Always Love You; and Ako Ay Pilipino (I am a Filipino) successively. She dedicated her 2nd song to a girl named Shelby (I am not sure about the spelling), a cancer patient and an avid fan of the young diva.
While Charice made Shelby happy, she also made sure that everyone in the audience was. She wanted to show everyone that she is proud to be a Filipino and further explained that her foot is on the ground and will remain on the ground regardless of the success and international attention she is currently receiving. Hence, she picked the song “Ako Ay Pilipino” and dedicated it to the audience and her country, Philippines. Appropriate for what the celebration was all about. Charice is such a sweetheart.
