Charice, not only a great singer but a pretty good actress as well. Charice played herself in her life story that was featured on 17th anniversary special of Maalala Mo Kaya (MMK) last July 26, 2008. The veteran actress Zsa Zsa Padilla played as her mom (Raquel). ChaZsa chemistry was fantastic in this drama.
For people like me who does not have TFC and wished to see the episode, well, today is our lucky day.
I never followed Britain’s Got Talent nor America’s Got Talent, therefore, I never knew who Charlie Green was. I’ve seen his name popped up in Youtube but I never really bothered taking a peek at him.
As I was searching for Charice’s Maalaala Mo Kaya posting, I ran across a video where Charice had a brief but lovely duet with Charlie Green. Apparently, Charlie Green, the half Brit and half Filipino, was a finalist in the Britain’s Got Talent and was hailed in the Philippines not just for the fact he has a Filipino blood in him but also because the child can really sing.
Charlie Green arrived in the Philippines on July 24th and basically appeared in most TV shows. He expressed his desire to have a duet with Charice on one of his TV guestings. Sure enough, his wish was granted and Charlie had an acapella duet with the international singing diva who just arrived from Italy. They sang Smile by Nat King Cole (video courtesy of pinoybluelame).
They sounded so great and they looked good together, if you know what I mean . Check the video below and hear these 2 singing wonders and fall in love with them like I did:
Josephine Roberto a.k.a Banig expressed support and praised for Charice and was really proud the diva’s achievements.
Before Charice, there was a Banig who captured the international attention and brought the Philippine pride (back in the 90’s). However, Banig’s fame swiftly vanished; she disappeared and left Philippines after less than 5 years of what everyone thought of as the most successful story of a talented young girl. No one knew what happened to her then.
Now, Banig is back to our homeland to release a self-produced Philippine album and answer the question that was left hanging for years: WHAT HAPPENED?
Banig wished Charice all the best and prayed that the diva will not experience what she (Banig) went through when she was at the height of her fame . Banig admitted that it was tough handling the pressure and meeting everyone’s expectations. She hoped Charice will be able to handle the pressure well (way better than her).

Most real life stories are told, wrote about, or made a movie of are stories of people who have left major impacts on other people’s lives. These are the people who have achieved something great and worthy of recognition or just simply because they made stories that are worth telling and selling. However, most of the subjects of real life stories are either old or dead. Charice is neither one of those (thank God!) but her life story will be told on Maalala Mo Kaya (Will You Remember), a renowned TV drama anthology in the Philippines that has been around for 17 years.
Can you imagine, the show was born a year before Charice was and now they are telling her story to the whole world (mind as well say it)? Remarkable! Charice is.
I know bits and pieces of Charice’s story but I am still anxious to know the whole 16 years of her bittersweet life. Unfortunately for me I don’t have TFC nor cable, I am just going wait for someone to post the video on Youtube and learn more of her life story on MMK.
Oh by the way, if I am not mistaken Charice will play herself. Gosh! Now I wish I am in the Philippines.
When Andrea Bocellisaw heard Charice’s singing prowess at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 23rd this year, he has nothing but praise for the young Filipina diva. Bocelli called Charice as “flush force of nature” and he expressed his interest of hearing her again. Hence, Charice was invited to perform at the Theatre of Silence of Lajatico in Rome, Italy.
Charice, together with Andrea Bocelli himself, Noa, Nicola Piovani, and Roberto Bolle will be gracing the magical Theatre of Silence of Lajatico with music and dance as part of the Cinema Tribute Concert which will happen on July 20th. The tickets were sold-out.
Charice will once again display her undisputed remarkable talent to people around the world carrying the Filipino pride on her back (yes, that includes you Charice hater).
